Ashley Graham was born in Lincoln, Nebraska. While growing up alongside her sisters, Ashley was often bullied by peers due to her big legs. Graham was diagnosed with ADHD shortly after graduating from elementary school. She was fortunate enough to prove session casters wrong and the career of her choice grew swiftly. Sally Singer interviewed her for "Vogue's" 2007 issue, giving her an opportunity for her first breakthrough. The year 2009 was the first time she appeared in the "Glamour Magazine" piece "These Bodies are Beautiful at any size". Graham again made headlines after she appeared as a model in the controversial Lane Bryant advertisement. It was eventually taken down in a number of countries. She also appeared as a guest on "The Tonight Show" alongside Jay Leno to address the issue after it grew beyond control. Graham rose quickly to fame and became one of the top-respected models of plus size. Grande was just a child at the time she started acting and singing. She was cast in the year 2008 when she was cast for the Broadway production 13 Then, she started appearing in small roles on television shows. Her role on Victorious which was a Nickelodeon show on television in 2010, was her first big breakthrough. She was Cat Valentine, a teenager studying at a school for performing arts. The sitcom ended up being cancelled in 2013, she starred in the spin-off show Sam & Cat (2013-14).
