Colson Baker, or Machine Gun Kelly, is known for his distinct style of singing. Baker was born in Houston Texas, U.S. on 22nd April 1990, to parents of English Scottish German descent. As a child Baker spent a large amount of time travelling with his parents, who were missionaries. The father James Colson Baker struggled with depression and unemployment while the mother Sonia Alane left them when the age of nine. Following that Baker and his dad moved to Denver which was where they resided with his father's aunt. Baker was bullied because he lived in poverty by the other kids. The first time Baker heard of rap was when he entered sixth grade. Colson Kelly was born as Machine Gun Kelly on April 22, 1989 in Texas. His music is known for mixing modern hip-hop styles with rock. Baker has released four mixtapes in the years from 2007 to 2010, prior to joining Bad Boy Records. Delivering lyrics with the speed of a train, this Cleveland artist experienced a remarkable growth in the second half of 2011, when he made the transition from cranking out self-released mixtapes and then signing with well-known label. Then his career exploded with each of his albums being ranked in the top 10.
